AKTEL Fiber Privacy Policy

Last Modified: 28-09-2026

Introduction

This AKTEL Fiber Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is meant to help you understand what data about you AKTEL Fiber Private Limited (“AKTEL Fiber”, “we”, or “us”) collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you access or use our website, customer portal, and products and services that link to this Privacy Policy (each a “Service” and collectively, our “Services”), and when you otherwise interact with us. We’ve tried to keep it as simple as possible — please take the time to read it carefully.

When This Privacy Policy Applies

This Privacy Policy applies to all Services. It does not cover the information practices of other companies and organizations who advertise or use our Services, and who may use cookies, pixel tags, and other technologies to serve or offer relevant ads. Our website may contain links to websites owned by other companies; we have no control over the privacy practices or content of those linked sites, and recommend you review each site’s own privacy policy. This Privacy Policy applies only to information provided by or collected from customers and users in India.

This Privacy Policy addresses our procedures for handling the personal information of customers in India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a person under the age of 18 is treated as a child, and we do not knowingly process a child’s personal data without the verifiable consent of their parent or lawful guardian. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided us with personal information without such consent, they may contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below to request its deletion.

Information We Collect

We collect information to provide you with our Services, to bill you, and to communicate with you, among other uses. We collect information from the following sources:

Information you give us

When you sign up for or purchase a Service from AKTEL Fiber, you may provide us with certain personal information, including your name, email address, street address, telephone number, bank account information, or payment card information. We also collect information when you communicate with us, including through our customer support channels. If you make a purchase from us, we may work with a third-party payment gateway to process your payment information.

Information we get from your use of our Services

We collect certain information when we install, configure, troubleshoot, or update your Services and when you otherwise use our Services. This may include:

  • Device Information: We may collect device-specific information such as your hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for your devices (e.g., your computer, router, ONT, or other network hardware). We may associate this information with your account.
  • Server Log Information: When you use the Services or view content provided by us, we may collect and store certain information in server logs, including internet or other electronic network activity information, and identifiers such as your IP address and cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
  • Audio Recordings and Chat Content: If you contact customer service through our chat feature or by phone, we may monitor and retain those conversations, including for training and quality assurance purposes.
  • Location Information: When you use the Services, we may collect and process approximate geolocation information (such as may be determined by your registered service address or IP address) for purposes such as network planning, installation, and support.
  • Local Storage: We may collect and store internet or other electronic network activity information locally on your device using mechanisms such as browser web storage.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect and store information when you visit our website, including to identify your browser or device. See the Targeted Advertising and Analytics and Choices sections below for more information and your options.

Information we get from outside sources

We may also obtain identifiers, demographic, and other information about our current or prospective users from outside sources for marketing purposes, such as publicly or commercially available demographic or contact information.

Information we derive

We may derive information about you based on the information we collect. For example, we may infer the types of devices used in connection with the Services based on bandwidth usage, for network planning and congestion management purposes.

How We Use Information We Collect

In general, we use the information we collect to provide, maintain, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the Services. We also use information about you to:

  • develop new Services;
  • comply with applicable law, and assist us in fraud prevention or investigation;
  • personalize your experience with us;
  • send you technical notices, security alerts, support messages, and other transactional or relationship messages;
  • send you marketing communications (see the Choices section below for how to opt out at any time); and
  • target advertisements to you on third-party platforms and websites (see the Targeted Advertising and Analytics section below).

For AKTEL Fiber Internet, we use the information collected from your use of the Services for network management, security, maintenance, or other related purposes, or for legal reasons. Technical information (such as device identifiers, IP address, and signal/speed test results) may be associated with your AKTEL Fiber account, but will not be used for any other purpose without your consent. Other information from your use of the Services (such as URLs of websites visited or content of communications) will not be associated with your account, except with your consent or to meet an applicable legal or regulatory requirement.

We may create de-identified and aggregate data that cannot reasonably be linked to you. We will ask for your consent before using your information for a purpose other than those set out in this Privacy Policy, where required under applicable law.

Targeted Advertising and Analytics

We may engage service providers to provide analytics services, serve advertisements, and perform related services across the web. To do this, AKTEL Fiber and these providers may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about your use of our Services and other websites, including your device identifiers, IP address, browser information, pages viewed, and links clicked. This information may be used to deliver advertising targeted to you, understand the effectiveness of that advertising, and better understand how our Services are used.

Where required under applicable Indian law, we will only use cookies for non-essential purposes with your consent, which you can manage through our website’s cookie settings. You may also set your browser to block or alert you to cookies, though some parts of our Services may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

Choices

You may set your browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with our Services, or to indicate when a cookie is being set by us. It’s important to remember that some of our Services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. You can access, correct, and delete certain information stored within your account at any time through the customer portal at customer.aktelfiber.in. You may opt out of receiving text messages or promotional emails from AKTEL Fiber by following the instructions in those communications, or by contacting us. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account or Service.

Information We Disclose

We do not disclose your personal information to other companies, organizations, or individuals outside of AKTEL Fiber unless one of the purposes below applies.

  • With your consent or at your direction: We will disclose your personal information to other companies, organizations, or individuals when we have your consent to do so.
  • For external processing: We provide personal information to trusted businesses or persons (including service providers that assist us with payment processing, marketing, or customer support) to process it on our behalf, based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
  • For legal reasons: We will disclose personal information to other companies, organizations, or individuals if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to: meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; enforce our Terms of Service, including investigating potential violations; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of AKTEL Fiber, our users, or the public, as required or permitted by law.

If AKTEL Fiber is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of company assets, or similar transaction, we reserve the right to transfer your personal information in connection with such transaction. We will strive to ensure your personal information continues to be treated consistently with this Privacy Policy; otherwise, we will notify you and seek your consent before your personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We may also disclose non-personally identifiable, de-identified, or aggregate information publicly and to our partners — for example, to show trends about general use of our Services.
